NOT JUST CONCERTS. GJAKOVA IN MOTION.
Ditët e Shqiptarit is a festival of Albanian culture organised by the Foundation for Gjakova. Its third edition spreads the programme across four weekends, bringing music, art, film, literature, sport, outdoor activities and tradition into the city's public spaces.
Its value is in the mix: residents, the diaspora and visitors do not gather at an isolated venue. They use the city as the stage. The bazaar, park and nearby landscape become part of the experience, while heritage sits beside contemporary music and ideas.
The public programme is promoted as free. Check participation terms for outdoor activities.
↗Three days of parallel events from morning to midnight.
↗Ali Podrimja Park, the Old Bazaar and Jupa Bazaar.
↗Gjirafa Travel lists this average journey time. Schedules and fares change.
↗CHOOSE THE DAY. THEN THE ROUTE.
The programme runs in parallel across the city and beyond it. Open each day for the time, location and what still needs confirmation.
OUTDOORS, PANEL + RONA NISHLIU
PARADE + CLOSING NIGHT
DO NOT PLAN IT AS ONE VENUE.
The main concerts are central, while the outdoor programme sends you to Drini Canyon and Shkugëza. These need separate transport and time.
Bus: about 1h 30min
Check the day's schedule on Gjirafa Travel. For concerts ending near midnight, arrange the return before setting out.
CHECK BUSES ↗Park + two bazaars
Ali Podrimja Park, the Old Bazaar and Jupa Bazaar carry most of the evening programme.
OPEN THE OLD BAZAAR ↗Canyon + Shkugëza
Do not leave with only the area name. Confirm the meeting point, transport and participation terms with the organiser.
OPEN THE CANYON ↗Gjakova bus station
The station is not the festival site. From there, plan a transfer into the centre or towards your outdoor activity.
OPEN THE STATION ↗FIVE THINGS THAT SAVE THE PLAN.
Central Gjakova is walkable, but the programme is not entirely central and some details can change.
